Our Story
Buzzing Meadows Farm is a small Irish farm rooted in respect for the land, the seasons, and the quiet work of bees. At the heart of what we do is our raw Irish honey, produced by our own colonies as they forage freely across meadows, hedgerows, and native flora.
Our honey is taken just as the bees make it — unheated, and untouched — allowing the natural flavour, texture, and character of each season to shine through. Every jar is a true reflection of place, shaped by weather, wildflowers, and the rhythm of the year.
Alongside our honey, we grow seasonal Irish flowers using organic, no-dig methods, and hand-pour pure beeswax candles made from the wax our bees produce. Everything we create is guided by traditional practices, careful stewardship, and a belief that nature works best when allowed to lead.
Buzzing Meadows Farm is about connection — to land, heritage, and the small everyday rituals that bring warmth, sweetness, and light into your home.
From our fields and hives
Our farm is a safe haven for all pollinators including Ireland’s only native honey bee, Apis mellifera mellifera, also called the Irish Black Bee.
To make our honey, the female worker bees foraged for nectar from many different flowers around Derryoober Bog Natural Heritage Area and the Buzzing Meadows Cut Flower Patch.
Important wild pollen and nectar producing flowers in the area include: Dandelion, Apple, Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Horse Chestnut, Willow, Blackberry, Clover, Knapweed, Ivy, Heather.
