  • Irish cut flowers follow the rhythm of the seasons — and that’s part of what makes them so special:

  • Once you get your flowers home, here’s how to make the most of your Irish-grown blooms:

    1. Unwrap gently. Remove packaging and inspect stems.
    2. Trim the stems. With a clean, sharp pair of scissors or knife, cut about 1–2 cm off each stem at a 45° angle. This opens up a larger surface area for water uptake and helps prolong vase life.
    3. Use a clean vase. Fill with fresh, cool water and add any flower food provided (if included).
    4. Refresh daily. Change the water every day or every other day and re-trim stems slightly. Remove any foliage that dips below the water line to keep the water cleaner for longer.
    5. Keep cool. Place your arrangement away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and fruit bowls (ethylene gas from ripening fruit can shorten flower life).

    With this care, locally grown, freshly cut flowers can stay vibrant and fragrant for days to a week or more, depending on variety and weather conditions.
